I currently reside in Takoma Park, Maryland which is inside the beltway of metropolitan Washington DC.
I am delightfully married for the the third time and live with my wife and best friend, Eliza and her son Nick who is sharp as a tack and my greatest teacher.
My hobbies include; woodworking with rustic wood material, photography, poetry and especially cooperative poetry groups, camping, hiking, rock climbing; primarily, however, family life consumes my time..
My interests include the psychology of human development, philosophy, esoteric studies, metaphysics, quantum mechanics and nature lore.
My current employment is that of a massage therapist at a massage clinic that employs about twenty therapists.
I will also include details on my family of origin and current family status as I have been told that most work situations are profoundly influenced by our family of origin and how we are dealing with those issues in our current family life.
My parents were (and are) altruists at opposite ends of the social spectrum; mother in a religious sect that disavows contact with the world except as the focus of constant proselytizing, my father as an uber liberal with a deep distrust of the political mainstream yet an avid and abiding interest and concern in the same political process that he bemoans.
I claim neither liberal nor conservative beliefs though I am familiar with both and could even claim a personal religious experience of Christian salvation in my repertoire of life's events. I prefer to reserve my stretch of faith for the inherent ability of each human being to contact the unity that we all share on some level. My efforts in this regard are towards ever greater internal transparency and integration of opposing beliefs which I have acquired during my time on this planet.
I have dealt with my parents disinterest and my own inclination towards endless reflection by impulsively leaping into one relationship and/or marriage after another. I have and continue to utilize the assistance of competent therapists in the navigation of life’s changing circumstances. This, along with process group work keeps me active in the growing of my life through evolving relationships with those that I love. These include children and wives from two previous marriages; with the wives I strive for a collegial and reserved respect, with the children I try to not be either too proud of their accomplishments nor too distressed over their struggles. My youngest birth daughter is 15 and living with her mother in the Hudson Valley, her half brother and five half sisters range from 22 to 29 and live in NYC, DC.; their work ranges from the medical field to education, food service management and the arts.
I look forward to a lively exchange with all of you and expect to give my best in our cooperative efforts.
